Teaching Practice

Procedures of teaching

The teaching I did was only 1 hour per class, I was assigned to practice teaching in class 7, for teaching procedures I carried out according to what was in the lesson plan there, it was easy for me to follow the lesson plan procedures there because the lesson plan was there so organized, before the teaching started with prayer, greetings, then checking the attendance list, after that before opening the teaching I told them the class rules that they had to obey.

After telling the class rules, I opened the teaching with a Pre-Test where I asked students to look for sentences in the table that I had determined. Next, I asked the students to put random words together as a warm-up before getting to the core of the teaching, then after that I explained the day's teaching, namely in the form of Active and Passive voice. Then I ask again what I explained to the students as a form of my analysis whether the students really understand or not. Next, I explain again about the teaching topic that day and tell why we are studying that topic. Then at the end of the teaching I did a post-test/evaluation to the students, by giving them questions about active and passive sentences where I asked them to change the sentences from active to passive and vice versa.

Then at the end of the teaching I conclude the day's lesson and apologize if there were any mistakes during teaching, and the students also give a closing greeting to the teaching.

 Time management and organizing activities

To manage my time during teaching there, I still have difficulty fitting in only 1 hour, because every time I do teaching I always feel short of time and take a little time outside of teaching hours, therefore my Cooperating Teacher also gave me advice regarding the Pre section. -The test should not take too long, just 5 minutes, and for the warm-up part I can divide the students into groups, so that I don't waste too much time and the teaching remains effective.

Classroom management

Before the lesson started I had given the students rules, one of the rules I made was called clap 1 clap 2, where at clap 1 I asked the students to sit neatly and calmly, then at the second clap I asked the students to stand up and whoever was the slowest to stand up , the student must answer my questions. Usually I do this when the students start to get rowdy and noisy. and starting to get a bit unruly. Actually, I had never thought about making teaching rules before, but my Cooperating Teacher suggested that it would be easier for me to handle the class.

Problem-solving while teaching and staying in the designated school

Usually when I asked students to work on questions in their notebooks, I always went around the class to check on the students one by one, to see if they had any difficulties in working on the questions they were working on. I did this because I thought there might be shy students who wanted to asked but didn't dare, therefore I always went around the class and asked them one by one "if they have any difficulties".
