Curriculum
The Laureta is under national curriculum developed by the
Department of Education.
Schools in the Philippines are divided into Kindergarten,
Elementary, Secondary and Senior High, as also implemented in Abu Dhabi
Philippine schools.
The Laureta National High School Compulsory core subjects
Secondary schools include languages, Mathematics, Sciences, ICT, Physical
Education and the Arts. However, in Grades 7 and 8, Technology and Livelihood
Education (TLE) subjects are also introduced.
In Senior High schools, the choice of career track defines content of subjects; typical tracks include Academic, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood, Sports, and Arts and Design. Students select a specialization track based on their aptitude, interests and school provision.
Teaching plan related to your major
Before teaching, I found out first about the teaching
methods and how the lesson plans were used. To make the lesson plans, I was
helped by my friend or buddy from the Philippines, she taught me how to make
the lesson plan format at Laureta National High School. I feel that the lesson
plan here is very organized and arranged in every thing that will be done in
teaching. From how to start until how to end the teaching, everything is neatly
stated in the lesson plan there.
Then after making the lesson plan I also bought
supporting items for my teaching, from colored chalk, markers, then candy which
I always buy as a self-reward for students. I didn't think too much about
teaching techniques and methods when I was there because previously when I was
in Indonesia I had already prepared about the teaching methods I wanted to
present.
