Summary and Suggestion

Purposes of practicum (meets or not meets your need)

There are many things that can be gained from practical teaching experience in other countries, namely Teaching in a different country exposes me to new cultures, traditions, and languages. This can foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. I can also bring this cultural awareness back to my home country and incorporate it into my teaching.

Teaching abroad can provide me with a broader global perspective. I can see how education systems, teaching methods, and student needs vary across different countries. This can help me develop a more well-rounded and adaptable teaching approach.

Of course, this practice of teaching abroad is really in line with the aim of my first steps in understanding education in other countries.

Procedures of practicum

·       Teaching must always lead to objectives

·       Before teaching, start with prayer, greetings, then checking the attendance list.

·       Every teaching always analyzes students to find out students' understanding of learning.

·       Carries out a Pre-Test to assess the knowledge or information that students have obtained

·       Conducts a post-test to evaluate learning

     Outcomes of practicum

After completing the teaching practice, I learned a lot about how to organize a classroom, how to handle students with different characters, then I also got a lot of advice from my Cooperating Teacher on how to manage teaching time well, and how to make the class atmosphere much more lively. and after completing the practice I gained knowledge on how to make a good and more organized lesson plan.

The challenges of practicum

My biggest challenge in teaching is the language difference, where many of the 7th grade students at Laureta National High School are still not fluent in English, sometimes there are times when they accidentally speak the local language to me (Visayan) but we try to understand each other. with each other, sometimes we also use body language when we have difficulty conveying something.

Overall impression

My impression when I was at Laureta National High School was that I was a bit nervous when teaching but also excited and happy, because while I was there I met a lot of good and extraordinary people, great teachers who were friendly and very competent, my beloved students, friends from the University of Mindanao Tagum College who are also carrying out field studies. And I gained many things there from valuable togetherness and experience to new knowledge about the education system in other countries.

Suggestions for future improvement

Nothing is perfect in this world, therefore there are definitely still things that must continue to be improved to become even better.
